Who's behind this
Lewis C
UK dad of one. Gamer, Man City fan, marketer by day, and the person who has to say yes or no when the next craze comes home.
Every few months a new craze sweeps the playground, and parents end up googling "is it safe?" at 11pm. The answers are usually a shop trying to sell it to you, or a listicle written by someone who's never touched one. This site is the page I wanted to find.
How we make this
Straight answer, because you should know:
- We use AI to help research and draft. AI tools search for sources, pull official data (like the GOV.UK recall lists behind our trackers), check facts against those sources, and write first drafts. It means a one-dad site can keep up with crazes that change every month.
- A parent checks every page before it goes up. Nothing is published until it's been read and approved by Lewis C.
- Every fact links to where it came from. Official sources first: GOV.UK, the NHS, Trading Standards, manufacturers, and the companies behind the games.
- First-hand means first-hand. If a page says we've played it, bought it or tested it, we have. If we haven't yet, the page says so.
- Dated and re-checked. Every page shows when it was last checked. Crazes move fast, so we revisit them.
When we get it wrong
We fix mistakes as soon as we find them and note what changed on our corrections page. Spotted something? Email hello@playgroundradar.com.
What we'll never do
- Take money from a brand to review or recommend its product
- Promote gambling of any kind, including loot boxes and skin betting
- Show our own child's face or use his name
- Make up a first-hand experience
How the site pays for itself is on the how we make money page.
